 I&#8217;m not validating or endorsing the idea by posting about it.  I&#8217;m posting because I had written a comment on the accompanying <a href="http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/12/29/1327213">Slashdot article</a> (that I never posted) that addressed the issues below.

 Then I wrote half of a post about how the <code>rel</code> attribute could only be applied to hyperlink-type elements and that putting it on other tags would cause the document to fail validation.  Instead, <code>class</code> or <code>title</code> attributes should be used, depending on how <a href="http://microformats.org">microformat</a> he wanted to go.  However, I realized that <a href="http://pj.doland.org/archives/041577.php">he beat me to it</a>.  His second article pretty much says what I was going to with more words.  I had already written the <abbr title="Hypertext Markup Language">HTML</abbr> for a document to prove that it wouldn&#8217;t validate.</p>
