Thoughts on the Ford Edge

I was watching the newest episode of the Bold Moves documentary (made by Ford, about Ford). This episode was all about the Ford Edge, Ford's first vehicle in the vague new category of the crossover.
Ford, and others, put a lot of hope in the Edge. Is the Edge enough for this new category?

I try to check my account balance even though I know the site is down for weekly maintenance. Why don't they tell more than just half-truths. I want to know what they are really doing. The screen is weird and it makes me feel sick. I close it.

Electric Vehicles And Biofuel

Most electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts do it to be green. I'm interested in them for more pragmatic reasons. While the positive impacts on nature are A Good Thing, they are a side effect for me.

It's 8:30 in the morning. I literally have a Mexican working a jackhammer right outside my window. This will continue until at least noon. I was going to wait until later to post, but since I'm awake anyway...

I went down to Buena Park tonight to hang out with RX8Club guys. I learned that the 710 to Long Beach is a way to get to the OC from LA. So, is the 5. Getting lost isn't ALL bad.

A Dent in the 1/4 Panel
Posted by Robert on the 11th of June, 2004 at 10:48 AM GMT0. Permalink.Tags: Cars, Reflect
Well, I've had a dent in my 1/4 panel for god-knows-how-long, and it's finally getting on my nerves. I've pulled out the seats to get to the back side only to find the back side is sealed off. I tried the fender behind the carpet, but there is no way to get to it from there either. I looked in the trunk behind the carpet but that is definitely too far. So, I'm stuck. I'm querying the RX-8 guys about dent pulling kits. If that doesn't work, I'm going to get a real dent removal kit and drill a hole in the metal directly behind it. That way I won't have to worry about sealing it from the elements. Just put some touch up paint on it incase of humidity. What a pain in the ass.

My lights finally came in. I ordered two "Chrome" amber 940s for my clear side markers and two UV 940s for testing purposes. It's still not fully dark, so I don't know how the UVs really look. However, the clear corners really make the car look complete.

I'm looking forward to a good night. I've got a project to work on for once. It's for Renaissance Spa. They came in with no expectations, so I think I'll really be able to get creative. I'll post some screenshots when I get a chance / get something worth taking screenshots of.

PCs suck. Alex's sucks a great deal less now that it's fixed. I'll spare the details, but it was a tricky maneuver, and J ended up doing a good portion of the grunt work since I left at midnight.

Last night, after Bennagin's, J and I went to see Troy. Not only did it star several actors from Lord of the Rings, it also rivaled it in length. I was expecting something more on the scale of Gladiator, but was delivered something with ambition that exceeded budget.

iPod + RX-8
Posted by Robert on the 17th of March, 2004 at 2:54 PM GMT0. Permalink.Tags: Apple, Cars, Colorado, iPod, Love Order Light, Vacation
I purchased my 20 GB iPod just 20 minutes ago. I also got a car charger. Now the trip to Colorado will be so much better. The sales person tried to sell me the Applecare warranty. While it would be nice, I don't anticipate any problems, except with the battery. However, I reckon the guy was wrong when he said "it's a bugaboo for 95%" of the people who bought one. I told him the replacement batteries were about the same price, so I wasn't worried. He tried to inform me that it wasn't user replaceable. I launched into a coughing fit at that point, so I gave him the thumbs up sign. That could have been interpreted as "Okay" or "Most users are sheep." I have no qualms with popping open devices. If I did, I would have spent a shit ton of money on time installing parts on my machines. It's not like I have to worry about voiding the warranty, since I didn't buy one.
