Hamer Toyota, an L.A. area Toyota dealer, has a commercial where they get their family to sing a shitty rendition of I Get Around, originally by the Beach Boys. Since the first time I saw it, I hated it. Only last night, after a few shots of vodka, did I notice that the very last scene of the commercial looks like a bunch of zombies slowly approaching the camera while singing I Get Around. It didn't particularly freak me out, but now the whole commercial will forever remind me of singing zombies...

There is always some amount of construction going on in Los Angeles. Since L.A. isn't confined by natural borders, the first inclination was to sprawl. This is why L.A. is so large, and is slowly assimilating areas that used to be distinct towns (e.g. Hollywood, Santa Monica, Compton). Essentially all of L.A. county is part of L.A. city, as far as I can tell. When New York City hit its boundaries, it started growing vertically upwards. L.A. seems to take a different approach. All the building projects I've seen recently grow vertically downward before they grow upward...
