Being Sick Stops Everything

When I posted this, I was listening to: H.I.M. - Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart

I've been sick for the past two weeks, going on three. For a few days there, I thought I was getting better. I was wrong.

This has pretty much put a proverbial stick in the spokes of the bicycle that is my life, sending me flailing over the handle bars into my bed, where I spend a lot of time. Luckily, my boss is cool enough to get annoyed by my coughing and send me home. It's not very often that I like to admit defeat and go home.

I was originally diagnosed with a sinus infection, which didn't make sense because I was coughing and had an ear ache. I got on a Zpac. That cleared up the cough, but not the ear ache. I went back and got on amoxicillin. That got rid of the ear ache. By Friday, I thought I was in the clear. I continued to take the meds, though.

By Monday, I felt bad again and had the symptoms of a sinus infection. So, now, I'm trying to push back the congestion with Sudafed, Robitussin, and Afrin while the amoxicillin works it's magic. Ibuprofen is my drug of choice for pain and fever reduction.

Toilet tissue sucks for blowing your nose on, but it is better than paper towels. So, I'm using that until I feel like going to the store again.

Luckily Tammy commiserates when I act like a pitiful baby. That gives me an excuse to act like a pitiful baby.

When I'm not at work or asleep (depending on if I went to work that day), I've been slowly progressing on the rewrite of RobertDot. I decided to merge all of the archives from the days of old into the blog. This is taking quite a bit of work since I can't get a regular expression to do most of the work for me. So far, I have merged in 219 posts from the somethingHollow deep forum. I'm getting close to half way done with that forum.

Also, the Ice Ramps project has gotten off to a good start. Dale had a machine shop create a working prototype. I still haven't posted them on the site yet.

While I was feeling better, I bought a TEAC 5 disc CD changer from the Goodwill for $20. I also bought my first Dremel set, and various other supplies. The CD changer will become the case for my PVR project. I've already taken it apart and everything fits wonderfully. I couldn't have planned it better.

Now, I just need to learn to be more precise when I'm making mounting brackets and such. I should probably buy a ruler or something.

Some other stuff happened over the past few weeks, but my brain has been dulled by sickness, repetitive posting of old topics, and melatonin. So, I'm going to sleep.
