New, You're So New

When I posted this, I was listening to: H.I.M. - When Love and Death Embrace

I spent the week working on Edu-search.com. I came up with the following (as yet unfinished) design. Tammy liked it. Greg couldn't get it to work. I'd like to hear your opinion of my work-in-progress.

Friday, I went to L.A. to party with Adam's crew. It was enjoyable. I took a couple photos. Nothing major to report. After I got home, I ended up staying up until 6:00 AM. I don't remember what I did. I know I did something. I just don't know what.

Saturday, however, was an interesting day. I slept until 2:00 or 3:00 PM (I love the weekends). I did some mundane things until 8-ish. Later, though, I talked to (and later met for a beer) my first internet-cum-real-life friend. We were both a little wary about it, but ended up going to a bar to talk after a bit of IM'ing to determine if the other was nuts or not. It turned out to be some of the most stimulating / interesting / fulfilling discussion I've had (in person) since I've been out here (even if on some level it was still get-to-know-you chatting). While I don't think I'll make a habit out of meeting Internet people, I'm thoroughly glad I decided to be adventurous this time. That doesn't begin to describe it.

While I was talking with Teesha, we got on the subject of Intelligent Design (ID). She said something to the effect of, we have historically attributed mystery to God, but science eventually comes up with a natural, non-mysterious solution that can't be attributed to God. I was reflecting on parts of our conversation (including that part) while I was waxing my car today. It lead me on the following thought tangent: IDists attempt to reverse that (what Teesha said). They try to push mankind BACKWARDS into ignorance to regain ground for mystery, and thus God as a side effect, instead of trying to move mankind out of the dark. Anyone who claims to be a scientist and promotes accepting ignorance instead of searching for an answer is a liar or a fool. So, be wary of anyone who claims to be an IDist and a scientist.

I (finally) waxed my car today. Hopefully, tomorrow I can break out the rest of the show-n-shine stuff and finish the job I've been meaning to do for months.

  1. IDist And 3/10ths Scientist

There are some of us IDists that believe the scientific and natural solution to a problem is what attributes to God. You won't have to worry about Anyone who claims to be a scientist and promotes accepting ignorance instead of searching for an answer..., unless you are visiting Bryce.

  2. Wow

feeling rather closed-minded today, are we, mr. brodrecht? ;) perhaps you should read schroeder. i don't necessarily think he'd agree. i know i don't.

  3. Untitled

Not closed minded at all. It'd be closed minded if I didn't think about it, look at other opinions, and have a good reason for believing what I think. Give me the name of a book or article by Schroeder (there are too many on Google to know which one you are talking about) that you think would offer decent proof as to why I should think an IDist is a good scientist, and I'll check it out. I'd say that's a fairly open minded thing to offer.

  4. Quick Thought

i personally do not know what an IDist, but J said something interesting to me once (and no i am not calling j an IDist), the reason i think that there may be a God is because of the way the human works. too paraphrase our friend. that is all i have, i suck at typing, and to know all my uneducated thoughts and ramblings...call the moo
