When I posted this, I was listening to: Chris Whitley - Weightless
Anna flies in tonight around 7:45. She's going to be out here for a couple of weeks. It'll be nice to have her around. For sure, I'll have some decent food to eat.
The new season of Alias started last week with a two hour premier that left Sydney in a CIA version of SD-6 with Sloan, the former bad guy, at the helm. Okay. Whatever. I watched a lot of the first season on DVD and actually saw a few episodes on TV. But like most shows I think are cool, I never remember to watch them. I've been able to learn the schedule of The Simpsons, but usually only catch the 6:00 and only the 7:30 if I remember to switch back from Discovery. At any rate, I put a reminder in my phone to alert me when Alias comes on. So, I have no reason to miss it anymore.
Yesterday was the WWDC in San Francisco. It saw the release of the Mac Mini and the iPod Shuffle.
The iPod Shuffle is cool, though obviously not as cool as an iPod. I'd still like one to take to the gym and walk to work with. The iPod is a little big for day-to-day use, seeing as I have to carry it in addition to my cell and wallet, which are about the same size but thinner. The iPod shuffle would be nice since it would fit in one pocket without bulging my cell out any more.
The Mac Mini is what the computer world has been clamoring for as long as I can remember. If I had a dime for every time I heard, I'd try it if they were cheaper,
I could probably buy a Mac Mini one with the revenue. The computer is reminiscent of the G4 Cube. Both were very compact designs, but fully featured. The difference is the Mac Mini is tons cheaper than the G4 Cube was in it's day. In fact, the Mac Mini costs less than some iPods. That's pretty cool. I don't know if it makes me think some iPods are really expensive or this Mac Mini is really cheap. Either way, $500 for a Mac is a pretty nice deal.
So, all of you who said you'd get one if it were cheaper... time to get a Mac.

You Have It All Wrong
by Bryan on the 12th of January, 2005 at 5:33 PM GMT0. Permalink.See, when we said, I'd get one! But they're so expensive man!, we didn't really mean we'd get one if the price dropped. It was just a way to not sound too much like a PC whore and not be ridiculed by a potentially(not you necessarily) half-crazed Apple extremist.
This does put us in a rather delicate situation, being the passivists we have been, now that a cheap mac exists. But, we shall stand up for what we believe in! No longer hiding ourselves from the light reflected off of stylish, clear, and colored plastics! Say it with me people! I only want a PC! And one mouse button sucks!
How do you like them apples?

In reference to Robert's comments about it being similar to a G4 Cube: this one is almost as much as a new MiniMac (granted it comes with keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc)... nostalgia is fun
